CKD Case Study

Three linked views of the same 156-case chronic kidney disease dataset — an individual case atlas, a nested comparative analysis, and a map of critical decision nodes across trajectories.

01 · Atlas

CKD Case Atlas

156 individual nephrology case logs — browse each patient's staging, labs, and course one at a time.

02 · Analysis

CKD Nested Analysis

The same 156 cases grouped and cross-compared, surfacing patterns that don't appear when reading cases one by one.

03 · Decision Nodes

Critical Decision Nodes

Trajectory · Decision · Outcome — where the real forks in CKD management sit, and how they played out across the cohort.

Insights Summary

  • Individual → Comparative Reading cases one-by-one (Atlas) surfaces very different insights than reading them nested and cross-compared (Analysis) — the same data tells a different story depending on the lens.
  • Decision Points A small number of recurring decision nodes — timing of referral, RAAS blockade titration, dialysis-start conversations — account for a disproportionate share of divergent outcomes across the cohort.
  • Staging ≠ Trajectory Two patients with the same eGFR/staging snapshot can be on very different trajectories; the decision-node view is where that distinction becomes visible.
  • Purpose This suite is a demonstration of moving from individual case review to structured comparative and decision analysis — a workflow pattern, not a validated clinical tool.
